About Be Happy in LIFE
Our Vision
A world full of happy, loving, purposeful people.
Our Mission
To spread happiness and love in the world by life coaching, education, writing and
public appearances. To inspire the lives of those around us and create a positive
ripple of connectedness and caring.
How Be Happy in LIFE came to be
Life coaching has been around for a long time.
Wayne Dyer, Brian Tracy and
Jim Rohn coached and motivated people long
before life coaching became popular.
Life coaching shifts your focus from "Why is my glass half-empty?" to "I want
my glass to be full. How can I fill it?" That's what makes life
coaching so successful.
When we went trough our own life coaching with
Tony Robbins' program, our lives, that were exciting, interesting, loving and
happy, changed focus. Does it happen to you that you think "It can't get better
than this?" Well, it can and it did for us. We realised that there are
deeper levels of love, connection, different levels of being. Most of all, it
made us think of the ultimate reason to get up in the morning. No matter from
which angle we looked at it, we always got to
happiness.
Being happy is the reason we do what we do. It is our
perception of happiness, which determines our attitude to life and,
unfortunately, they don't teach happiness in school. This is how Be Happy in LIFE was born.
Studying to become life coaches brought us to another level of
awareness. Just like surrounding yourself with
children as a teacher keeps you feeling young, we find that surrounding ourselves with
people who are going forward, no matter what happened in their past, keeps us
positive and inspired. We do learn best what we teach, so we learn every day, with every client, that happiness is a choice and that making good choices develops us into strong, focused beings.

What makes Be Happy in LIFE the best choice for you
In the happiness equation, there are many aspects - our health, our career,
our finance, our social life and, most of all, our relationships.
Relationships, we found, were at the heart of happiness. Relationships with
ourselves, with our partners, our kids, our parents and siblings, our
friends, our bosses, our colleagues and our employees. In our coaching for
individuals, groups and businesses, we've found that people's relationships determine their
levels of success and happiness. Relationships have great correlation to happiness. This understanding brought Be Happy in LIFE to
focus on relationships as the main ingredient in people's behaviour. Not the kind of job they do,
not their ages, not their family structure or their financial status. We empower our clients
to be masters of relationships and equip them with a good sense of self and with confidence in the
direction they have chosen.
So far, we have 100% success! See for yourself.
There are two main approaches to the delivery of life coaching. The "free
flow" approach deals with specific challenges. The life coach facilitates the
client's thinking towards getting the best results for the client. This approach
and quick and effective, but when the client faces new challenges, he or she
needs the life coach again. In the structured program approach, the client takes a
look at his or her entire life and restructures them, with the help of the
life coach. This takes longer, but the effect lasts longer, too.
At Be Happy in LIFE, we take your empowerment one step further. We tell our
clients what's behind the "tips and tricks" used in life coaching and provide them
with materials, which they can use again and again. Our clients can coach
themselves, sometimes even others, after they've finished their growth process with us.
No, we are not afraid they will coach themselves and won't need us in the
future. We are happy they have a life coaching attitude. Each client thus
joins the Be Happy in LIFE family, spreading happiness, love, caring,
acceptance and success in our world. What could be greater?
Finally, we've chosen writing as another tool to spread the word. Our program
materials, our newsletters and our books are our tools to achieve our purpose.
We sincerely hope you will choose to join the Be Happy in LIFE family by enjoying
our services, by reading and forwarding our
newsletters and by buying our book Be Special, Be Yourself for Teenagers.
Happiness is a choice. Choose to be happy!

Ronit Baras
In presenting myself, I had to choose what to put at the front because I did and still do so many things, under so many hats and titles. I'm a partner to Gal, a mother to 3 wonderful children, I teach kids with learning difficulties, gifted children, university students, language, math and emotional intelligence. I'm a journalist, an author (see my book), a public speaker, a workshop facilitator, a community worker, helping to connect people, and the list will never end. I'm thinking about each of them and realise they have many things in common, It is only different dress to the same figure. I, with every cell of my body am a happy and proud educator.
Education takes a big part of my life. I believe it is the same for all of us. Our parents and our school years have had a huge impact on who we are today, with happy and not-so-happy experiences. I value education and its power and wish to pass it on.
My non-professional life started … a long time ago (I'll let you guess - Clue: I have an 18 year-old daughter). The highlights were: being a child with disability, being sick and being very unsuccessful at school. These were the three things that had the greatest contribution to my top successes in life, the things that I've learned to turn into my greatest achievements.
My professional career started 22 years ago, when I decided to study Special Education in hope of saving all the kids in the world (including my young self) from the evil of non-acceptance. I was lucky, while being a student, to work in a Special Education project led by a professor in the Hebrew University in Jerusalem called "Creative Thinking". Yes, I was lucky, because while working with him, I experienced things that would have taken me a lifetime otherwise and I had a chance to work and learn from the most inspiring people in the education industry and to adopt a different mindset. I learned from them that there is hope, there are always great ways to developed kids and that I have a "magic powder" with a special property: the more I give from this powder, the more I have from it. So I specialised in learning difficulties, increasing intelligence and building emotional skills.
During those 4 years of work, I could see the great value of my learning but couldn't stop asking myself "how can I give this knowledge to others, to allow them to make educated decisions?" Sure enough, the answer appeared and I wrote the "Garden of Eden" program and opened a childcare centre and had the time of my life using this powder and proving that all kids are very talented if we only provide the right environment for them.
A major part of the program was coaching the parents to make sure they would be able to support their kids afterwards. It might sound surprising to you, but the techniques were so good they worked perfectly on the children and their parents.
After two years of a great success, with my husband Gal and my eldest daughter, I moved to Texas USA. This was the beginning of a great adventure that I hope will never end. In Texas, a school that was about to close heard about my program and asked me to join. There, I had the opportunity to implement my program the second time. This time, it was easier, better, with faster results (the school grew when I was there).
At this stage, you're probably asking yourself what was so special about this program that it saved a school from closing and being better and faster than the first one? The answer is that this program doesn't teach. It focuses on personal development. It is not about knowledge, but about skills and thinking.
Education in its early years focused on knowledge - we gave the kids "fish", which was "food for a day". Later on, focus moved to skills and thinking and my program had plenty of those, so I gave the kids "fishing lines" and knew they would last them longer. But the reason my program was faster was that I found a way of giving them a "fishing NET" by coaching their parents and getting the parents to help their kids.
Parts of my program were later implemented in California and Thailand and a full implementation was done in the greatest two years of my education career in Singapore. This implementation I consider to be one of my greatest achievements (except my 3 wonderful children and my relationship with Gal), because it was the most challenging and the most successful. At this stage, I believed that personal development was equally important for the adults and the kids, the relationships between them became an important factor in the success of the children and after this, I knew the sky was the limit.
The decision to become a professional life coach came after going through the Anthony Robbins program. It did a lot for me and my whole family and I knew I needed to add this as a tool to my education toolbox. Again, I asked myself "How can I share this with others?" and found two ways of doing it, two ways that are my passion and to which I had dedicated many years of my life: to educate and to write. Even in my stories I write about personal development so the person reading them feels he or she has grown in the time it took them to read.
I coach men, women, gays, couples, singles, groups, kids and teenagers. My clients come from a wide range of ages, abilities, professionals and cultural backgrounds. Among my clients are consultants, hair dressers, general managers, lawyers, business owners, performers, CEOs, PhD students, lecturers, self employed professionals, government employees, police officers and the variety is great. Among my organisational clients are Libra Financial Services, Investment Intelligence, The Dyslexia Centre Melbourne, private schools, Multicultural QLD, MLTAQ, C&K, ECTA, The University of QLD and Winning Women.
I think if they all had to describe me, they would say that I believe in what I do with all my heart, that I live my passions, my dreams and my purpose every day of my life and for that I'm happy and grateful. Coaching is a wonderful tool and I love its power to inspire people to grow and live their dreams.
My own dream is to spread the message of positive thinking, emotional intelligence and acceptance to the world. I live this dream wearing different hats and titles and every time I write and coach. It is exciting to be in a profession where I grow when my clients grow, where I get from them as much as I give them, if not more. I inspire them and they inspire me and it is a never ending cycle, it is a positive ripple, sweeping and getting bigger every day that I'm happy to be a part of.
May the force be with you!

Some of My Coaching Achievements
To date, my clients have gotten some incredible results. Here are some examples (the names have been changed to maintain the clients' privacy):
Steve

|
Steve needed to control his time and be more productive. He wanted to have time for art. He struggled to get along with the people at work and his mood was low and miserable.
When he discovered communication styles, Steve started feeling OK about himself, as well as about others. He undersood that his style was rare and learned how to experess himself better and how to listen to others better.
Steve mastered time management to the point of being able to dedicate time to several forms of art. After being let go from his job, he was rehired and worked his way to a full time position, receiving praise and promotion. Best of all, Steve is now a happy man, with a positive outlook on life, who supports others around him with the new tools he gained in coaching. |
Angela

|
Angela was facing separation from her husband and had a busy schedule, but hardly any pay. She wanted to be paid well, to work part time, to be outside more and to work out a new relationship with her husband, which would be good for both of them.
After coaching with me, she became a highly-paid consultant, freed up two days a week, separated smoothly from her husband and found a new partner. |
Mark & Rose
|
Rose and Mark had a "situation". They were in some financial difficulties, partly due to gambling, and disagreed on the best way to handle many things, including the raising of their two young daughters.
Rose attended one of my parenting programs and felt like she'd discovered gold. She decided to bring her two daughters, whom she felt needed some emotional strengthening, to me for coaching.
The girls spent some lovely time with me, talking and playing games, and started making changes at home, taking new initiatives and being a lot more assertive with their parents.
Rose then "dragged" Mark to a subsequent parenting program, where he gradually opened up and realised the opportunity he'd been given. At the end of the program, he and Rose decided to come together for couple coaching.
With my coaching, they regained control over their financial situation, improved their sharing of responsibilities and overcame the gambling addiction. |
Brenda
|
Brenda needed to make some serious decisions about her career and her marriage. She had been at home for several years and felt drained and critical of herself. She was especially unhappy as a mother.
Through her coaching with me, Brenda took control of her life. She rearranged her house, set clear rules and boundaries for her children and took on a part-time job. After a while, she built further on this success and embarked on an independent career, which includes project management and public speaking in her area of expertise.

My Background

I started out in Information Technology, as a consultant and a manager of technical people. When I got my first management position, Ronit bought me a book, called "The Manager as a Coach", which started me getting results by understanding my team better and using their internal motivation for exceptional performance.
At some point, I listened to a series of CDs
by Anthony Robbins. I learned how people think and how we are conditioned to be stressed and
unhappy. I decided to do something about it and trained as a life coach.
During my training, I was coached 3 times, each time discovering new and exciting things about myself, until I learned to like me. This is such an awesome feeling, I want everyone in the world to have it!

My Coaching Philosophy
Life coaching is my life's
great discovery. I enjoy every minute of it, because I can see changes happening
right in front of me - people opening up, releasing the burden of limiting beliefs
and becoming happier by the minute.
I care for my clients with all my heart
and always want the best for them, whatever they consider "best" to be.
My coaching starts with getting to know my client and building trust with him/her. Usually, clients express criticism towards themselves and are very surprised when I take "their side" and accept them as they are. As we work through beliefs, values, rules and needs, my clients accept themselves more and more and grow happier and happier, as if the world is suddenly clearer and people in it are nicer.
I belief that coaching (or emotional skills) should be part of mainstream education. I believe it's the key to global peace and happiness, because when every person lives an empowered, responsible and happy life, there's nothing to fight about and the other people are all (potential) friends.
I plan to coach people in businesses and organisations that affect big decisions, to help them create win-win situations, in which the gain of their community is also their personal gain. I am particularly interested in influencing leaders in Africa to inspire instead of abuse their people and to lead their people to prosperity.

Some of My Coaching Achievements
To date, my clients have gotten some incredible results, some after a single session. Here are some examples (the names have been changed to maintain the clients' privacy):
Jim

|
Jim was studying to be a counsellor and wanted to set some professional training goals. He was uncomfortable with his abilities and with charging clients for his services.
After coaching with me for only 1 session, he went on to achieve 150% of these goals and is well on his way to starting his own professional practice. His counselling fees continue to rise. |
Mary

|
Mary had a son with learning difficulties. She felt helpless and overcome by the way "the system" treated her son.
In our first session, she gradually realised what she needed to do, as we crafted her inspiring goal. Through coaching with me, she decided to take responsibility and do whatever it took for her son to have a good life. |
John
|
John had some challenges with his manager and his control of time. He saw the manager as unapproachable and arbitrary in his decisions and generally viewed his work as a given set of constraints on his life, which left him little time for anything else.
The first thing John realised during our coaching was how much time he already had for himself and his family. This immidiately gave him energy to continue.
John learned about communication styles and realised in what ways he was different from his manager and how to better communicate with his manager. After this, he was promoted at work without asking, simply because the manager started feeling comfortable around John.
|
Carl
|
Carl suffered from depression and had seen a councellor. He was referred by his girlfriend, who was going to leave him if he didn't get over his perpetual sadness and self doubt.
Initially, he felt good after each session, so he waited until he felt bad before coming to see me again, just like he would with the counsellor. I suggested having several coaching sessions a week apart and he agreed.
After just two such sessions, he started making bigger and bigger changes in his life, which sustained his growth and kept him happier for longer and longer. He finally took a big jump and changed his job, which made his confidence soar and gave him a whole day off every week to spend with his partner and friends. Now, he sounds full of energy and confidence and looks forward to a great future. |
